1 tsp. instant coffee granules
2 Tbsp. hot water
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 pack of cream cheese softened (8 oz.)
1/3 cup confectioners sugar
1 cup (6 oz) chocolate chips, melted

1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp. shortening
1. In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and butter; stir until smooth. Cool for 5 minutes. Dissolve coffee granules in hot water; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and brown sugar on medium speed for 1 minute. Stir in chocolate mixture and coffee. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to chocolate mixture.
2. Transfer to a greased 9 in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely on wire rack.
3. For filling, dissolve coffee granules in hot water. Set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in confectioner's sugar, melted chocolate and coffee. Spread over brownies.
