Poor Elijah thought we were going to "Gecko Lake" all day. He loves lizards and stuff, so he was soo happy to go to a lake filled with them. Unfortunately, he was very disappointed when we got there and explained the name for him.

While in New Hampshire, we went to the Flume with some of our awesome friends the Browns! The Flume is a gorgeous place, and it attracts tons of tourists! I had actually never been there, but the rest of the fam had.

We were waiting for the Browns and decided to be goofy and take pictures!

The water there is sooo beautiful!

And this is part of the beginning! It's water gushing down, with walls of mossy rock on either side. It got way prettier the farther up you went.

The lighting here was really weird but really cool!

This was definitely the result of primitive "tree tipping". (For those of you who have no idea what that is, it's where you climb up a small skinny tree, and then once you get to the top, it starts to bend back toward the ground. very fun!)

Shiny Sand. It was really sunny out this day. It was actually sunny and it rained part of the time.

There are really cool mushrooms in New Hampshire. I found this one in a magical moss covered forest that had mini caves everywhere. It was sooooo cool! It took my breath away.

This is one of the small skiing mountains. Obviously with no snow.

This is a really cool hotel that Dad used to work at.

Lots of the time, the clouds would be covering the mountaintops.

Me and Josh went out our last morning there at the lake and explored. The fog was soooo cool! You would see a bank of fog, and you would paddle over to it. But then when you got there, the fog would disappear.

I LOVE this sign! It's a real sign too. Lots of moose in NH.

Yea! The Shower went great. Everyone ate a ton and I think everyone had a good time. We had about 30 people here. The living room was crowded, but it was fun! She was given so many nice gifts!

Josh didn't really fit in with all the "ladies" so he played on the computer with James and Ben.

Mom headed up the games for the shower, and she had them play this game where you put a piece of paper on top of your head, and then you had to draw Brittany on her Wedding Day all dressed up in her dress. Here are the "results".

Meet Jake.

If I searched the whole wide over... Jake would be the man that I would pick to marry.

He's handsome and strong (ooo-la-la!)

He is so manly!

People have asked me if he smiles. The answer is YES! A lot!

He's super funny! We're always laughing like crazy when we're on the phone!

He's a good friend to others...

... and he LOVES his family! So do I!

He's also an outdoors man, which is just one of the many things that I LOVE about him! Yup... he's a New Hampshire country boy for sure. Sweeeet!

He was "company high shooter" in boot camp, which means that out of 1,200 other Marines, he shot the highest score! THAT'S MY MARINE!

He loves to go hiking in really cool places too, he's gunna take me everywhere once we get "hitched"!

Ya... we were quite the team when we were kids.

We've changed a lot since then (PRAISE GOD!!!) but we still make the BESTEST TEAM EVER!

How did I get such a man? Only through the miraculous hand of God! I thank Him for Jake every day. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would get a man like Jake!

Once Upon a Time Part Two...

The next part of my story begins on a cold and rainy day. My family was vacationing in the beautiful state of New Hampshire and we had invited our friends the Ingersons to come over for a visit.

As we scurried around making sure our cabin was clean for company, I was reliving all of the amazing and fun adventures that I had been on with my friends, Jake and Krystal.

If ever a person wanted to hang with people who were loads of fun and excitement, it would be with the Ingersons! Having been friends with them since I was a kid, we have a lot of great memories that go way back.

They finally arrived and we hit it off talking about all those good time memories! But something was missing... Jake wasn't there!

Don't get me wrong! Krystal is one of my BESTEST buds EVER!!!!!!!! I love her to death!

We've done SOOOO much together!

We've eaten marshmallows together...

...matched outfits with each other...

...we even invented new things to do with Oreos!

We drank Mountain Dew together...

...and played paintball together!

But things were still different when Jake's not there. I mean, did you see those pics in my last blog post? We're like.. the Three Stooges together!

You see, Jake is now a United States Marine. He is stationed in North Carolina, so it wasn't possible to come up and see us.

The Ingersons knew that Jake would want to talk with us (he wanted to be there so badly) so they brought a phone card that we could use to call him! As members of my family spent time talking to him, I was getting a little nervous. It had been about 7 years since I'd last seen him... ! What if we didn't "hit it off"? Well, I didn't have to worry about that! We hit it off BIG TIME!

We hit it off so BIG that..........

... Jacob Ingerson and I are now in a relationship that's heading towards the marriage altar!!!!!!!!

What does this girl think? She can't! She's too much in la-la-land! Haha, just kidding.

This girl is the most happy, blissful, blessed girl on planet earth right now! Never in her wildest dreams did she ever imagine that Jake Ingerson, one of her BEST childhood friends, would one day marry her.

Jake is amazing! He is mature, yet very fun-loving. He loves the Lord and has an amazing testimony to those he's around. He is very wise, hard-working, happy, strong, handsome, totally awesome, a leader, and best of all... he's MY friend! He's more than I could ever ask or dream for... !

I will be writing more of our story later on, but for now I wanted to let you all know about Jake and I.

There's SOOOO much more to this story, but that will have to come another day!

Once upon a time there were two families who did everything together.

...and they baked cookies together, while playing Army (this is possible... notice the weapons in our hands). The cookies would have turned out great too, but the soldiers were so busy... playing Army... they forgot the butter.

They were quite a charismatic group...

...which was a pile of fun!

If there was an opportunity to be goofy together, they were right there in the action!

They were like a close-knit family.

Little did they know that 8 years after this photo was taken, things would take a pretty amazing turn for these two little families.

Most of these pictures are ones that I took on my iPod this summer. I wanted to make a blog post with them, and decided the only way to do it was through what I call "the topic of randomness". So here we go!

My name is Brittany, and this is a post dedicated to my friends.

These are two of my five siblings, and you can tell just from looking at them... things aren't always easy in my life.

But thank God for friends who are always there to help ya... up a tree...

...or help you enjoy Fun Dip even more than usual. And I REALLY enjoy Fun Dip!

Friends are great when your golf cart gets sabotaged at camp.

They can help console you when your pop tart doesn't have icing.

Here's me and my friend Abe Lincoln (as a teenager). I think he's staring at my head....

Friends are also great when crime comes around and you've got nothing but an invisible hand gun. With a friend close by, you can have TWO invisible hand guns. Together, we can be... friends.

Sometimes friends can choose to desert you for "something better" (like food in this case).

Or they sometimes choose to just fall asleep, right in the middle of the action.

But it happens. You know, a friend is someone who knows all about you, but still likes you anyway.

Friends can help you reach towards the stars.

A friend can be a shoulder to lean on.

They help you stand on mountains...

...and help look into the future to see what "could be". In more simple language, friends can help you dream!

When life brings you surprises, your friends can just be there and smile, and tell you that it's going to be okay.

When the paths of life get steep... and you don't know what your future holds...

...they can look at you, smile, and say,
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

A friend of mine told me that once.

His name is Jake.

These are culottes that look like a wrap skirt from the front. They zip on the side. They will fit waist size 30"-32" and hip size 36"-38". They are 29" long from waist to bottom.

These are the same price and size as the ones above.

These are box pleat culottes. They fit waist size 30"-32" and hip size 36"-38". The length from top to bottom is 25 3/4". They are made of denim. The cost for these are $15.00 and $5.00 for s/h.

These are Christian Womanhood culottes. They fit waist size 28"-30" and hip size 34"-36".

The length is 26". The price for these are: $20.00 and $5.00 s/h.

These two skirts are Jessica's GUNNIES.

They are girls size 7. The length is about 32". Waist measures approx. 25"

around. They are 100% cotton. These are used but in good condition.

The blue one has about a 4" tear at the bottom of the ribbon that could be mended or replaced.

Windy Ridge...

On the way to the Apple Orchard we stopped at a gas station, and for some eccentric odd reason, they had a hippie scarecrow thing. It was weird, so obviously I wanted to take a picture with him... oh... uh I....I.... really meant of him.(Look at his socks and sandals!)

Loon Mountain...

On Sunday we went to Loon Mountain which was about 45 minutes away from our grandparent's house. It's a really cool place. They have horse back riding, trampoline bungees, rock walls, gondolas (below), biking, caves, cafe's, shops, segways, and a zip line. You could buy a package for 39 with a coupon for the zip line, bungee, rock-wall, and gondola. So we all bought the package deal, and had tons of fun. Our favorite was the rock wall.

New Hampshire...

New Hampshire was awesome! It was fun visiting again.
Traveling there we stopped at McDonalds a lot.

Me, Britt and Jordan went exploring the day after we got there. We went around the lake exploring. After we climbed up this steep hill, all of us were out of breath and didn't want to admit it. So we nonchalantly decided to take some pics.After we tried to catch a snake and royally failed, "sniff sniff" we saw this bee! The scene was really cool from this rock.

About 2 weeks ago we had a TEAM week. It was a very good way to get kids from Lincoln to come to church and hear the Gospel. Here's Josh answering trivia. "What is the capital of Monaco?" And of course my very intelligent brother knew the answer. "Um... Is it Monaco City, Monaco?"
"Well Josh... that is... CORRECT!" Crazy. I didn't even know what Monaco was!

American Eagle. This was fun! But kinda brutal. I reached down to grab a tube, and my friend Martha moved her head right at the same time, so my hand slammed into her braces. So, that hurt, and later she said she pulled out skin from her braces! NASTY! I now have a little battle scar. ;)

Corn Maze Parade...

McClean (or however you spell that) had their annual parade for their town. So the Pecks had their tractor and corn maze trailer in the parade. It was fun! But incredibly hot! Man, I don't know how people lived back then with all their old fashioned dresses! Seriously... for part of the time I didn't drink enough water and I felt sick. But all in all, it was great. We sang songs like Ya'll Come, I'll Fly Away, and Boil Them Cabbage Down while Jordan, Katie, and the Roys played along. They sounded really good! Then afterwards, we went to the square. They had old fashioned booths set up with old fashioned hats, guns, tepees, woodworking, and bluegrass.

Here is the Corn Maze Queen. She doesn't like me to call her that, but it's true.

While we sat there for about an hour waiting for the parade to start... we ate PBJs!

It was incredible! They had the best preaching I've ever heard this year. The preachers are all young men who God really uses to convict your heart. There were about 6 or 7 of them. The theme this year was "The Probie", and it was a firefighter's theme. Great conference. I love it. Just thought I'd share the few pictures we got while we were there.

Hello everyone! I survived my first year of school! Just wanted to hello, I have not died, and I am coming back to IL for a week before working at camp!

School has been GREAT (and crazy and stressful) and I have enjoyed being at Heartland Baptist Bible College for a whole school year... already! I am planning on coming back in the fall and am looking forward to another great year at Heartland.

The Lord blessed me with a wonderful job at Panera Bread. It's a great job and I love it! It was sad leaving for the year, but I am actually here at my work (without my uniform) typing this post, so I just can't keep away from it!

I got my pictures taken the other day so I thought I'd share some of them here on the blog. I hope you enjoy! My friend Hannah Owen took them and I thought she did a great job!

We Were Just in a Wreck!

We were just rolling to a stop and were going but 2 mile per hour, and BOOM! Someone plowed into the back of our van. The worst thing was that we didn't know what was going to happen, and all of a sudden we get our necks whip-lashed. Janae was with us too in the front seat. Her vehicle hardly got damaged, but we can't open the back of our van now. We were scared because we heard something shattering. But it was just the tail-light. But... besides being very tired, necks hurting, backs hurting, and headaches, we're okay. Praise the Lord. The police then went through and asked all our names and date of births and addresses.

"Thankfully we aren't dead. I only got scared when I heard the glass shatter." says Joshua Comstock, 13-year old victim. (Wink)

"That's why they call them accidents, and it could have been worse." reports Tina Comstock, driver of the mini van, and 5 children.

"It doesn't seem like we were just in a car wreck, does it?" Asks a quizzical, Janae Howell, eyes wide with surprise.

"I'm so glad our dog wasn't in the back! I only remember slamming back into my seat and hearing something shatter. (Which was the rear lights.) Then I looked back to see a 20 year-old red-headed girl, holding her hand over her mouth." Reply's a slightly shaken up, Abby Comstock.

"My lap-top flew off my lap and onto the floor, and my hat fell off of my head! I still have a head-ache." Jennifer Comstock, 16 year old survivor, reports.

A few weeks ago, Bro. Bazen took some teens to a youth rally in Missouri. It was a long drive, but it was worth it. Bro. Davidson from Heartland Baptist Bible College preached. That's where Brittany goes to college. I was hoping she could come, but she couldn't.

Youth Rally...

These are pictures of a youth rally we went to a while ago. The kids in the choir loft are part of the SWORD Team. We memorize a chapter in Romans, then every few weeks, get quizzed on it at different churches in Illinois. It's a good way to make sure you are reading an memorizing the Bible.

This is our new AKC German Shepherd puppy! Isn't she a darling! We've only had her for 4 days, but they have been fun and educating. Today we took her first puppy-training class in Springfield @ PetMart. It was fun! She got to see some little puppies like herself in the store, plus a Great Dane! That was funny!

Well, we love her! Pray that she will turn out to be a perfect little angel! (Right now I'm not getting my full night's sleep. :( Mom says it's good "baby training" for me...)

Finally! Sorry I haven't posted for a long time! Been very busy, ya know? Anyways, here a some fun food shots I took while at Ryan's. Pastor and Mrs. Davis took us girls on a shopping trip, and they paid for all of us to go to Ryan's!

Mission Impossible

We had our annual Youth Conference again this year. The theme was Mission Impossible, with the first 2 letter of Impossible crossed out. It was neato. So, here are some pictures. I only took the last 5 though. Other people had my camera the whole time.

So, we had to tattle on him. Bro. Bazen finally made him smile.

This was a game to see who could put on a frozen shirt the fastest. They were frozen solid!

" The Chipmunk" That's his nickname. He sings just like one of the chipmunks, and him and his brother sing the chipmunk Christmas sing. It's hilarious! " Oh Christmas don't be late!"

And here, the girls had to feed the guys pudding with a little robotic arm. It was funny.

Another Funks Grove Post...

We were itching for adventure! We went to Funk's Grove. A hidden trail off to the left caught out attention. Yehaw! Well what do ya know? Signs... very mysterious signs were tacked up on the trees. Jordan, Abby, Josh and James ran on ahead. Me, being the cautious one, stayed back some, and snapped a few pictures.

Chapel? In the woods? Kinda strange...

Another interesting sign. So interesting in fact, that Jordan and Abby couldn't wait any longer! They had to see what was ahead.

Yep... This is what I'd call.... uh.. mysterious.

Yahoooo! We found it! It was an outdoor chapel! Josh took a couple of "leaps of joy".

All in all, Kaylen was a darling.

And look! More mysterious writing! I took a closer glance...... and then someone told me it was done by insects. ( JK! )
I glanced up...... and got a picture idea!

And Lijah found a creepy crawly insect! Actually Mrs. Peck found it first.

Then... all of a sudden, it was time to go home! Everybody wave good-bye!

This was a fun afternoon! Jordan Peck invited all the girls from church over to her house for an afternoon of games and food! Here's "Joy", Jordan's orphan kitten. They found it in there barn after it fell down from their loft.

Well, here's another post from Missouri. These were taken from my camera, but unfortunately, I didn't take my camera Silver Dollar City. But here are pictures from Cabella's, and at the Fetter's house.

Abby outside of Cabella's waiting for the Howells. We met them halfway there, then drove the rest of the way together. T'was fun! I like Cabella's. Especially the hats and hoodies. But they are expensive! ;0
